Report about the project activities. February and March 2017.

Through February we were working on task 6. In this task we were supposed to continue with a famous story that another country had sent us. This was a really interesting task because you learned to use your imagination. We did only have to write at least 1 and a half pages. In each class we made 4-5 groups by ourselves and worked in each group the whole task. Every class got a story from a different country. At last we had to take a photo of a specific scene in our story. In our class we got four beautiful stories but only one could win. The winning story was sent to the other countries. It was a really funny task and we all enjoyed it really much. You got to use your own imagination and collaborate to make something fantastic in your group. This task made us show our collaboration and imagination skills.
In march a group of students from each country went to France. We stayed in Épernay. It was a beautiful town and we made a lot of new fantastic friends. Through the trip we worked with theatre and to also write a whole new scene. We got 4 amazing scenes and we all enjoyed our stay. But the most important thing that we all will take with us the whole life is all the new friends we made.
Report about the project activities. December 2016 and January 2017.

In December and January, there wasn’t much to do, so we are going to talk about the only task we have been carrying out.
For this activity, each group has had to read an excerpt of a work of theater of one of the countries in the project.
Then, we have had to write a scene to continue the excerpt.
Finally, each group has had to take a photo that represents an instant of the scene created by us, wearing the appropriate wardrobe and setting.
There should be ovals, ovoids, spirals and polygons on the picture as part of the setting.
The deadline was 28th February.
This activity is very nice because we have to make different objects and we are learning how to do crafts.
Report on the activities carried out in September, November and December 2016 by the French students
Task 5
1- What we did.
Our teachers informed us about task 5 which consisted in creating a video from a poem, adding music and some maths elements.
First, our French teacher gave us 5 different poems written by French poets. We read them, explained them in order to chose 2 out of the 5 given. We selected Euclidians by Eugène Guillevic and Fifteen minutes of good time by Nicolas Boileau.
By groups of 3 or 4 pupils, we translated the poems into English in order to send them to our Erasmus partners.
Then, we worked on our playlist. We had to choose 5 French songs which represent our country. We used the computers in our computer room to look for songs. We chose the songs which alluded to our French history, like La Chanson de Craonne, a song about WWI, which we heard of during our History lessons. We also selected songs which contained the word “France” in the title, like Douce France, as well as other famous French songs like Je suis français by a singer who is really famous nowadays among young people.
We also looked for a lot of information to complete a grid for each song: its title, its date of release, the name of the artist, the instruments, a summary about the life of the singer and a summary about the subject of the song. We completed this grid in English.
Then by groups, we were given a poem from a partner country. We read it and translated it in order to understant its meaning.
We also chose maths elements among a list as well as the music to add to our video. We selected the music according to the poem. If it was a romantic poem, we had to choose a love song. But we all prefered to have only music with no lyrics in order to be able to listen to the poem instead of the lyrics of the song. So we did not take the song from the playlists.
We recorded the poem written in English, on our smartphones or on MP3 devices and then we transfered the files into Audacity.
We had to communicate in English with our partners in other countries via the Twinspace forums, so as to ask them to record their poem in their native language and send their recording to us. For example, we asked our Croatian partners to record their poem in their language and to send it to us.
We made the videos adding some images which had to be linked with the poem and had to contain maths elements; the chosen music and the recordings of the poem (both in English and the original version).
2- What we have learned.
Thanks to this new task, we have learned lots of new things such as:
working in groups: sharing our ideas, sharing the tasks to do, like working on the songs, the recordings of the poems, … Everybody has a task to carry out to contribute to the final result,
making videos using softwares such as Movie Maker or iMovie,
words in other languages as well as some lines of the poems,
foreign songs and poems,
vocabulary in English
new poems and new songs from our own culture,
the golden ratio.
This task was really interesting to carry out as it was a new one. We also enjoyed communicating with pupils from our partners' countries and working in groups even if sometimes it's not easy because during the holidays we cannot always meet to work all together.
Report on the activities carried out in May-June 2016 – by the French students
Before the holidays in April, our teachers informed us about the different legends in the countries of our partners. After the holidays, we created 3 groups of students, two groups of 8 pupils and one of seven. We had 10 days to do the activity. With our French teacher, we wrote the dialogues as well as the other texts in French. With our English teacher, we translated our texts into English. Our Math teacher taught us the geometrical elements which had to be added to the drawings in our comic strip. And to finish, with our Science teacher, we learned how to use a new software to create comic strips: Comic Life.
We followed different steps to create our comic strip.
First, we translated the legends into French in order to understand their meaning. Then, we decided what to show in our comic strip, the most important moments of the legend, and then, we wrote the corresponding dialogues and the additional texts to explain the situations. To write them in English, each pupil of a group was in charge of the translation of a part of the comic strip. Then we exchanged our creation with other pupils within the group to check if it was correct. Then, to create our comic strip with the software, we used it several times to train ourselves. At the beginning, it was difficult but at the end we succeeded in creating our comic strip. Some of the pupils decided to use it and some others didn’t and instead they draw. We also created the paper to explain where you can find the geometrical elements which were to be added.
Anyway, it took us a great deal of time to achieve it, but we were satisfied and proud of our creation! We loved doing this activity in group. We learned to work with other pupils in a group. At the beginning, it was difficult to agree on what to show, what to write, because we wanted everybody to agree on the same moment and dialogue, moreover we wanted everybody to express themselves. The groups were made according to affinity, some students wanted to work together but others didn’t. But all the groups did a great job. We also learned how to use Comic Life to create our comic strip so we learned some words related to comic strips, we didn’t know before, such as title block, onomatopoeia, insert…

February - March by Croatian students
Through February and March we were working on Task 3, and we started working on Task 4. Also, the first meeting in Luarca, Spain was at the end of February.
Through February we were working on Task 3, stories inspired by paintings. This was an interesting task. We worked in groups and our task was to write a story about the artwork we have been assigned. We only had to write a part of the story using only fifty words, send our part to other groups from other countries so they could add their part. When all four groups were finished and all parts were added the story was finished. Then we had to make drawings based on the stories. At the end of the task, we had eight beautiful stories and drawings that were made inspired by paintings and artwork of famous authors from each partner country. We had a lot of fun doing this task. Some of us had to make the beginning of the story, some of us the other parts, some of us had to draw and this was very interesting. The task required our adroitness, drawing and writing skills.
In March, we also started working on Task 4, making graphic story adapting one of the stories, legends or popular tales from the other countries. We had to choose a traditional tale from our town or country. For this assignment, our teacher had chosen The legend of the Red and Blue lake and The Fairy of the Blue lake. So far, we translated these tales in English and we will be working on this task through April.
Finally, the first meeting took place at the end of February in Luarca, Spain. This was an incredible experience, we had an amazing time learning new things. We went to school and we did some tasks in groups with members from other countries. For all of us, the most enjoyable thing on this trip was getting to know new friends.
December - January by some Swedish Students
We have worked with 2 tasks, task 2 and task 3.
In task 2 we were put together in groups and answered some questions individually about art, math and design. When we had answered the questions we started making a video together about how we
answered the questions. At the same time when we made the video we discuss how we got the answers. We sent the video to the other countries for them to answer the questions by
watching our video. We thought lt was boring to answer the questions because It was hard and uninteresting. But It was fun to make the video because you could be creative and have fun while you worked.
In task 3 we were in different groups and we got either a painting or a picture from one of our countries. The pictures or the paintings were going to be inspiration to a story. But we were only going to write about fifty words. Because we were going to send the story to another country so they could continue on the story. When all the countries had written one part was the story done. It was fun to write the story but It was hard and boring to just write a small part of the story and not more.

October - November by some Spanish Students
Five spupils of 3ºESO; Iván, Silvia, Néstor, Laís and Ángela have formed a group to work on this project. We decided to participate in this project because we want to learn English, visit other countries, meet people and improve our level of this language.
So far, we have done three activities:
First, the teachers organized a logo contest to choose the best logo for the project. It must represent the different aspects of the project schematically.
Then, we made a webquest about the most relevant aspects of the culture of our country. We asked questions about literature, science, sport, geography and art.
Finally, boys and girls from the partner countries answered the questions of our country’s webquest. We also had to solve their webquests too. This way we have learned about their countries, it’s been very interesting!
We think that the project Erasmus+ is a funny way to learn English and a bit of other languages. In our opinion, we have to work hard, but we know that this experience will help us in the future.
